rewriting of "The show must go on"

The creator of "The show must go on" is Freddie Mercury, the singer of Queen group. This song symbolizes the fact that even if everything is bad, the show continues. Freddie Mercury wrote this song when he was affected by the Aids. The words are rich of allusions and metaphors, is the sign of the future tragedy. At the end, the lyrics mention the determination to leave : « I have to find the will to carry on… on with the show »

~ I love this song!!

Moulin Rouge : (2001) The song was one of many used in the film Moulin rouge! performed by Jim Broadbent and Nicole Kidman.

~ I think, this version of "The show must go on" it is not so bad !

This Song was sung too by Gregory Lemarchal (French Singer).
"The show must go on" was simbolic to him because he was affected by a serious desease. It was a way to make him stronger face to the sickness.

~ For me, it's great version too, but it is not my kind of music.

Finally, "The show must go on" was covered by a rock group : Karelia. Group members say : "Get started on the perfect tube for excellence as The Show Must Go On is a very hard challenge." But they wanted to pay homage to the original version, while trying to put our "sauce".

~ I like the metal or rock music, in general, but here, I don't really like this rewriting; I think that emotion is not transmitting.

the movie "Shakespeare in love"

Shakespeare in love is a romantic comedy-drama film by John Madden and written by Marc Norman in 1998. Inspired by the life of William Shakespeare when he wrote Romeo and Juliet.

Synopsis :  The story takes place in 1593, in London. Shakespeare is weighed down under the debts. He promises Mr Henslowe to deliver a new play : Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter.
In reality, he writes nothing about this play.
Lady Viola, who loves his sonnets, dreams of becoming an actress. But, in Shakespeare's time it is prohibited for women to play.
A young man named Thomas Kent is cast in the role after impressing Shakespeare with his performance and his love of Shakespeare's previous work. Kent is actually Viola de Lesseps. She decides to disguise herself as a man to be able to play the role.
Shakespeare finds out that Kent is Viola. It is love at first sight but Viola is married to Lord Wessex...

Personnal commentary : I like the story and I think that the film adaptation is a success. It is a moving romantic-comedy and there is a good casting. Some people say that the movie devalue the play : watch it and tell me what do you think about it.

"Django Unchained", Quentin Tarantino (2012)

~ Synopsis:

In the United States, before the Civil War, Dr King Schultz, a German bounty hunter, buys a slave call Django. Django has to help Schultz to capture the murderers that he researches. After thats Django will be free. During the expedition, Django's first goal is to find his wife. Indeed he was separated from her because of the slave trade... The road will be hard and dangerous. They will have to choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival...

~ I have not seen this movie. I love Tarantino's movies. I would like to find in Django all the characteristics of Tarantino's style : tragic and bloody scenes, beautiful music and wonderful shots and landscapes.

~(future) Reactions : I have seen Django and I LOVED it ! I found all that I wanted to find in this movie. I think it will be a fabulous success. This film is terribly thrilling and I advise everybody  to go and see it. The actors are fantastic too, the casting is just perfect !

Why is there much blood in this movie?
Firstly, in all Tarantino's movies, there is a lot of blood and violence.
Secondly, his goal is to show the situation in Mississipi at that time. When Django kills white people, it is a form of vengeance against the massacre of black people. The fact that the scenes are very bloody is a means to denounce black people's situation at the time of slavery.

~Tip : sensitive souls, be warned. ;)
